Past Conferences
One of the most valuable services provided by The International Society for Luso-Hispanic Humor Studies is the annual conference. The conference brings together scholars from around the world for three days of papers, panels, and informal discussions. Papers encompass but are not limited to literature, linguistics, theater, film, art, politics, folklore, cartoons and graphic humor, and music and social issues. Further, they are to be in language accessible to the non-specialist and should avoid excessive jargon. The formal sessions are complemented with a keynote address by a noted humorist or humor scholar and exhibits of books and humor-related materials.
